Who we are

A team that lives where you climb.

Mountain King Treks is a professional adventure travel company, established in 2017 to provide safe, authentic, and unforgettable trekking, cultural tours, and peak expeditions in Nepal and neighbouring regions.

Every itinerary is crafted by people whose families have lived on the trails — guides who speak the dialects, porters who know the shortcuts, cooks who turn rice and lentils into something you'll dream about for years.

Our mission

Adventure, with the people who know it best.

Whether trekking to Everest Base Camp, exploring the Annapurna Circuit, or discovering remote regions like Upper Mustang or Upper Dolpo, we ensure every journey is carefully planned and unforgettable.

Our leadership

35+ years on the mountain.

The company is led by Govinda Prasad Sapkota — a veteran adventure travel guide whose career on Nepal's trails started long before the internet found them. When Mountain King Treks was founded in 2017, he already had over two decades of expedition leadership behind him.

He is widely respected as a backbone of Nepal's adventure tourism, providing expert guidance and leadership that ensures every trek is safe, authentic, and meaningful.

What guides us

Our core values.

Four principles we treat like compass points — every trip orients to them.

Safety first

Certified guides, satellite comms, oxygen-on-call. Your safety is the only non-negotiable.

Local expertise

Born and raised in the regions we operate. Decades of trail knowledge, cultural fluency.

Responsible tourism

Fair wages, lighter footprints, real benefits to mountain communities.

Authentic experiences

No staged photo-ops. Real villages, real food, real conversations along the way.
