A bespoke trekking in nepal adventure.
The Royal Trek in Nepal is a short and scenic trekking route located in the lower Annapurna Region near Pokhara, making it one of the most accessible and easy trekking adventures in Nepal. The Royal Trek is famous for its gentle trails, cultural village experiences, and stunning panoramic views of the Annapurna Himalayas, making it an ideal choice for beginners and short holiday travelers.
Historically, this trail became known as the “Royal Trek” after Prince Charles of Wales visited Nepal and walked along this route in the early 1980s (1981) with a small entourage. Since his journey, the route gained popularity and was named the “Royal Trek,” symbolizing its connection to royal exploration and introducing this beautiful part of the Annapurna foothills to the world.
The trek offers a perfect combination of natural beauty and cultural richness within the Annapurna Region. It passes through traditional Gurung and Magar villages, terraced farmlands, and peaceful forested ridges while providing incredible views of peaks such as Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Lamjung Himal.
Unlike many busy trekking routes in Nepal, the Royal Trek remains quiet and less commercialized, allowing trekkers to enjoy an authentic rural experience. The trail is especially popular among those seeking an easy trek in the Annapurna Region with minimal altitude challenges and maximum cultural interaction.
Starting with a short drive from Pokhara, the route passes through scenic settlements such as Kalikasthan, Syaklung, Chisapani, and Begnas Lake surroundings before returning to Pokhara. Along the way, trekkers experience warm local hospitality, traditional lifestyles, diverse landscapes, and breathtaking sunrise and sunset views over the Himalayas.
With its easy access from Pokhara, rich cultural encounters, and stunning Himalayan scenery, the Royal Trek Nepal is one of the best short trekking experiences in the Annapurna Region, perfect for families, beginners, photographers, and nature lovers.
