This day is designed for rest and preparation before your Himalayan adventure begins.
Today is dedicated to exploring the cultural and spiritual highlights of Kathmandu Valley with a professional English-speaking guide. You will visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), gaining deep insight into Nepal’s rich heritage and traditions. In the afternoon, a detailed trek briefing will be conducted, including route explanation, safety instructions, and gear check to ensure you are fully prepared for the journey ahead.
An early morning transfer takes you to the airport for a scenic mountain flight to Lukla, one of the most thrilling air routes in the world. Upon landing, you will meet your trekking crew and begin your journey through the Everest region. The trail descends gradually through beautiful Sherpa villages, prayer flags, mani walls, and lush river valleys along the Dudh Koshi River. After a gentle walk of a few hours, you will arrive at Phakding, where you will stay overnight in a comfortable mountain lodge.
After breakfast, the trek continues along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges including the famous Hillary Bridge. The trail gradually ascends through pine forests and traditional villages inside Sagarmatha National Park. After entering Monjo, permit formalities are completed before the final steep climb toward Namche Bazaar begins. On a clear day, this section offers your first distant views of Mount Everest, making the arrival at Namche Bazaar a truly memorable experience.
This important rest day is designed to help your body adjust to higher altitude. Instead of complete rest, you will take a short acclimatization hike to viewpoints such as the Everest View Hotel or Syangboche, offering panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Later, you may explore Namche Bazaar, visit local bakeries, museums, or simply relax while enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the Sherpa capital. This day plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe and successful trek.
Today’s journey takes you deeper into the Everest region as you leave Namche Bazaar and follow a scenic trail with stunning mountain views. The path descends initially and then climbs gradually through rhododendron forests and open ridges. Along the way, you may spot Himalayan wildlife and enjoy clear views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. The highlight of the day is reaching Tengboche, home to the famous Tengboche Monastery, one of the most spiritual and picturesque locations in the entire Khumbu region.
After breakfast in Tengboche, the trail descends through beautiful rhododendron and pine forests before crossing the Imja River. You will pass through small Sherpa settlements such as Pangboche, one of the oldest villages in the region, with spectacular views of Ama Dablam dominating the skyline. The route then gradually ascends into a wide alpine valley as you approach Dingboche. This peaceful high-altitude village is surrounded by stone-walled fields and dramatic mountain scenery, offering a perfect place for overnight rest.
Today is an important acclimatization day to help your body adjust to higher altitude. After a relaxed morning in Dingboche, you will take a guided hike to Nangkartshang Peak (approximately 5,083m), one of the best viewpoints above the valley.
The ascent takes around 3 hours uphill and approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to descend, depending on pace and weather conditions. The trail is steep but rewarding, offering a great training hike for higher elevations ahead.
From the top, you will enjoy spectacular panoramic views of Makalu, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Island Peak, and the surrounding Himalayan range. After returning to Dingboche, the rest of the day is free for rest, hydration, and recovery, which is essential for safe acclimatization before continuing higher into the Everest region.
The trail today becomes more rugged as you continue along the Khumbu Valley. You will pass through Dughla, where climbers’ memorials stand in tribute to mountaineers who lost their lives in the Himalayas. The path then climbs steadily along glacial moraine terrain with dramatic views of surrounding peaks. As you gain altitude, the landscape becomes more barren and powerful in appearance. Lobuche is a small high-altitude settlement where you will rest overnight before heading closer to Everest Base Camp.
Today is one of the most significant highlights of the journey. After a short trek to Gorakshep, you will continue toward Everest Base Camp across rocky glacier terrain. Reaching Everest Base Camp is a truly unforgettable achievement, surrounded by the Khumbu Icefall and towering Himalayan peaks. After spending time at Base Camp, you will return to Gorakshep for overnight stay. This day offers a powerful sense of accomplishment and lifelong memories.
Early in the morning, you will hike to Kala Patthar, the best viewpoint for panoramic sunrise views of Mount Everest and surrounding peaks. After returning to Gorakshep, you will board a scenic helicopter flight back to Kathmandu, enjoying aerial views of glaciers, valleys, and the Everest region.
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your luxury hotel. In the evening, a special Farewell Dinner with traditional Nepali cultural program will be hosted to celebrate the successful completion of your Everest adventure. The evening includes cultural dance, music, and a warm gathering with your trekking team.
