In such cases, we arrange an early morning transfer from Kathmandu, usually departing between 1:00 AM and 2:00 AM, followed by an approximately 4-hour drive to Manthali to catch the morning flight to Lukla.

In Kathmandu, accommodation is provided in a comfortable 3-star level hotel on a twin-sharing basis with Bed & Breakfast (BB plan). Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative from Mountain King Treks. After completing airport formalities, you will be transferred to your hotel in a private vehicle. The rest of the day is free for rest and recovery from your international flight. In the evening, you may explore the nearby streets of Thamel or simply relax at the hotel, preparing for the exciting journey ahead in the Himalayas.
Today is dedicated to exploring the cultural and historical highlights of Kathmandu Valley. You will visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), gaining insight into Nepal’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage. In the afternoon, a detailed trek briefing will be provided, where your guide will explain the route, safety measures, and final preparations. This is also the time to check your trekking gear and make any last-minute arrangements for the journey ahead.
An early morning transfer takes you to the airport for a scenic flight to Lukla, one of the world’s most thrilling mountain airports. Upon landing, you will meet your trekking crew and begin your journey into the Everest region. The trail descends gradually through beautiful Sherpa villages, prayer flags, mani stones, and lush river valleys. You will follow the Dudh Koshi River, enjoying peaceful surroundings before reaching Phakding, where you will stay overnight in a local teahouse.
Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m) – 11 km, 6–7 hrs
After breakfast, the trek continues along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges including the famous Hillary Bridge. The trail gradually ascends through pine forests and traditional villages within Sagarmatha National Park. After entering Monjo and completing permit checks, the climb becomes steeper toward Namche Bazaar. On a clear day, you may get your first glimpse of Mount Everest along the way. Namche Bazaar, the vibrant Sherpa capital, welcomes you with colorful shops, bakeries, and mountain views.
After breakfast, the trek continues along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges including the famous Hillary Bridge. The path climbs through lush rhododendron and pine forests, passing small settlements and yak pastures. As you gain altitude, the air becomes cooler and the landscape more alpine. You will pass through scenic viewpoints with occasional glimpses of surrounding peaks before reaching the peaceful village of Dole, where you will stay overnight in a teahouse.
Today’s trek is shorter but steadily uphill, taking you deeper into the high Himalayas. The trail follows open valleys with wide views of snow-covered peaks and grazing yaks. You will pass through Lhabarma and Luza villages, both offering beautiful resting points along the way. Machhermo is a small but important settlement in the Gokyo region, known for its stunning mountain scenery and peaceful atmosphere. Overnight stay in a local lodge.
The trail continues along the glacial valley with increasing views of dramatic Himalayan landscapes. You will walk beside the Dudh Koshi River before gradually ascending toward the turquoise lakes of Gokyo. The rest of the day is used for rest, hydration, and preparation for the next day’s high-altitude crossing.
Today is one of the most challenging and rewarding days of the trek. Early in the morning, you begin the ascent toward Cho La Pass, a high-altitude crossing that connects the Gokyo Valley with the Everest Base Camp trail. The trail is steep, rocky, and may involve icy sections depending on the season, requiring careful steps and guidance from your trekking leader. From the top of the pass, you are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of surrounding peaks and glaciers. After a short break, you descend carefully to Dzongla, a quiet settlement where you will stay overnight.
The trail today is shorter but continues through dramatic alpine scenery. You walk along glacial moraine paths with stunning views of the Himalayas. The route gradually joins the main Everest Base Camp trail, where you will notice more trekkers heading toward the base camp region. Lobuche is a small high-altitude settlement located near the Khumbu Glacier, offering basic teahouse accommodation with incredible mountain surroundings.
A major highlight of the journey, today you reach Everest Base Camp. The trail first leads you to Gorakshep, the last settlement before Base Camp, and after a short rest, you continue across rocky glacial terrain toward Everest Base Camp itself. Standing at the base of the world’s highest mountain is a truly unforgettable experience, surrounded by massive ice formations and the Khumbu Icefall. After spending time at Base Camp, you return to Gorakshep for overnight stay.
Early morning ascent to Kala Patthar offers the best panoramic sunrise view of Mount Everest and surrounding peaks. The golden light over Everest, Nuptse, and Lhotse creates a magical Himalayan experience. After descending back to Gorakshep, you continue your trek down to Pheriche, following a gradual descent through alpine landscapes and open valleys. Pheriche is a peaceful village known for its Himalayan rescue post and wide valley views.
Today you begin your return journey through familiar landscapes. The trail descends steadily, passing through Tengboche and lush forested areas with rhododendron and pine trees. You may visit Tengboche Monastery along the way, one of the most important spiritual sites in the Everest region. After a long but rewarding day, you arrive back at Namche Bazaar, where you can enjoy comfortable lodges, bakeries, and a well-earned rest.
Today marks the final trekking day in the Everest region as you descend back to Lukla. The trail follows the Dudh Koshi River, passing through familiar villages, suspension bridges, and forested paths. Although mostly downhill, the long distance makes it a full-day walk. You will reflect on the incredible journey through Gokyo Lakes, Cho La Pass, and Everest Base Camp as you return to where the adventure began. Upon arrival in Lukla, you will celebrate the completion of the trek with your crew and stay overnight in a local teahouse.
An early morning flight from Lukla takes you back to Kathmandu, offering one last breathtaking aerial view of the Himalayan peaks. Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for relaxation, shopping in Thamel, or personal leisure after completing your Himalayan adventure.
In the evening, you will be hosted for a Farewell Dinner in Kathmandu, celebrating the successful completion of your Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo Lakes and Cho La Pass. The dinner includes a traditional Nepali cultural program, offering a final opportunity to experience Nepalese music, dance, and hospitality while sharing memories of the trek with your guide and team.
